VISUAL Artist I Photographer I Digital Design Director

Mel is a European based artist and photographer originally made in Australia.

I work out of London, Madrid, Paris, Berlin.

My work is photographic and digital. My practice and style is diverse depending on the story I want to tell.

My projects are about telling stories and can blend documentary and performative narrative, identity, portraiture.

My style blends interests in cinema, popular culture, fashion, media and advertising to question the role image making has on our daily lives.

Art is a personal practice and one I have returned to after 10 year hiatus. The art of making and the process of exploring the story as it evolves is the process at the end. The end is not always known as the story reveals itself as part of the journey.

My personal philosophy

I love a good debate so I live and believe in a state of cognitive dissonance - with ideas spanning art & science, humans & machines, creativity & algorithm, digital & real.

Digital Design Director I Product Director

I also work in the world of digital media and product design.

I work as a senior executive consultant / interim Digital Product Director / Experience Design Director.

I work across product strategy, setting up teams and delivering great online products people love and transform organisations of all scale and size for growth. This also inspires my interest in digital technologies and the intersection of digital, code and creativity.

There is beauty in code if you know where to find it. Good digital design comes from data and a little bit of structure. I work with some of the best creatives & engineers linking data, experiences and images.
